Storyboard Text

  • Meeting Theresa Cruz at Tangerine was a key part of Paul getting introduced to the soccer team where he became friends with the soccer team. Theresa showed Paul the soccer team because she felt bad for him. For example, page 292  declared "Then you said you wanted to play on the soccer team...I dont know. I kind of felt sorry for you." Theresa felt sorry for Paul because she thought he was coming from Lake Windsor because of the sinkhole. He acted like he was happy to be at Tangerine though, which made Theresa actually ok with him trying out for the soccer team.
  • Paul's mom getting rid of Pauls IEP was  humongous part of him getting on the soccer team. With an IEP form Paul is not allowed to play soccer in Tangerine county. For example, on page 105 the author adds "Your IEP form disappeared somewhere in between Lake Windsor and Tangerine." This is important because it allows Paul to play on the soccer team at Tangerine middle where he becomes friends with the players and makes choices that depend on the people on the soccer team like jumping on top of the coach at the senior awards night.
  • Paul inviting his science group to come to his house was a important part of Tangerine by Edward Bloor. It was important because this is when Erik slaps Tino in the face. By slapping Tino in the face Erik set himself up for a good old whooping from Tino and Victor. For instance, on page 205 the text declares " Immediately, faster than I thought he could, faster than Tino thought he could, Erik lashed out, smashing the back of his hand against Tino's face, smashing him so hard that Tino spun halfway around in the air and landed on the grass." This is important because this is what caused Tino,Victor, and Paul to hurt Erik and Arthur Bauer at the senior awards night.
  • Luis's death was a key part to why Paul helped beat up his brother. When Luis died, Paul was impacted heavily because he looked up to Luis like Luis was his real brother. For example, on page 252, the text declares that " I feel like Luis is a part of me now." This evidence is important because it shows how Paul loved Luis and how Luis influenced him in so many different ways and that Luis was one of the driving forces behind Paul helping Tino and Victor escape.
