Storyboard Text

  • The water cleans the trash it's fine. It can't affect us, we don't live in the water.
  • Why would you throw your trash in the ocean? Don't you know how that affects us and the animals?
  • Small pieces of trash are choking hazards and hurt the marine life.
  • Small pieces of trash are choking hazards and hurt the marine life.
  • How about plastic, animals are smart enough not to eat it right?
  •  Some plastic like plastic bags can't be digested by an animal and stay in their gut.
  • Animals often mistake some plastic as food.
  • Some trash contains mercury and/or cryolite and if it enters our water it will contaminate the water supply.
  • Throwing trash in the ocean doesn't just affect animals but it affects us.
  • If chemicals are in the ocean it also affects our food chain.  So when we eat marine life, we would be ingesting toxic chemicals.
  • If humans are exposed to chemicals it can result into threatening health problems.
  • Other than not throwing trash in the ocean, what else can I do to prevent ocean pollution?
  • Use reusable items as much as you and if you do use disposable items make sure to recycle them.
  • You can join an organization that helps clean up trash found in water.
