When they got to Mexico they stayed in a migrant shelter. Valeria got the documentation she needed to settle in Mexico.
Valeria was relieved to be able to settle. She started to rebuild her family and life. Valeria says, ¨Once I am working and stable, I am going to request a family reunification visa to bring my daughter here. I really miss her.¨
Asylum Access team got Valeria an employment opportunity at a fabric shop in Mexico City. This shop is providing potential employment for Alejandro.
Mexico was good for Alejandro. It gave him a great education. 95% of Mexicans 15 and over can read and write. All children are also required to go to school.
Now Valeria is determined to get her son into a good university . She says "So I have to persevere, if only for my son´s dreams, for his dreams to prosper.”
