  • Battle of Trenton, 1776
  • Battle of Saratoga, 1777
  • Winter at Valley Forge, 1777-1778
  • After the Americans started getting defeated left and right they came up with a plan, they snuck over a lake and attacked the british forces by surprise and forcing them to retreat, this led to a string of American victories.
  • American troops and the militia caught up with British Troops in Saratoga, they won the fight and gained French support.
  • Washington and his troops made camp at Valley Forge during the winter, 2,500 men died from disease and exposure but after the British moved their forces to New York City, the Americans were ready to attack, they attacked the British at Monmouth, New Jersey and was succesful
