  • Nikolas II believed he was absolute ruler anointed by God himself. His father told him that "You will control 1/6th of the world." But he was ill prepared, satisfied with his playboy lifestyle. When the Revolution broke out in 1905, Nikolas attempted to lead the army but failed, leaving 90% of the population poor.

  • When World War One started in August 1914, Russia responded by rallying around Nikolas II. Military disasters at the Masurian Lakes and Tannenburg greatly weakened the Russian Army in the initial phases of the war, causing them to retreat early.
  • Communist Policies by Lenin
  • Rasputin was a Russian mystic and self-proclaimed holy man who befriended the family of Czar Nicholas II, the last monarch of Russia, and gained influence in late imperial Russia. He was assassinated in December of 1916 from people accusing him of treason.
  • Creation of the USSR
  • These three men, Vladimir Lenin, Alexander Kerensky, and Leon Trotsky were all leaders of the Revolution. Lenin led the March Revolution and his promise was that there would be peace, land, and bread in the end.
  • Vladimir Lenin was a Russian revolutionary, politician, and political theorist. He served as head of government of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924 and of the Soviet Union. He made policies saying that all private property was abolished and divided among the peasants, and the largest enterprises were nationalized.

  • The Soviet Union, officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was a socialist state in Eurasia that existed from 30 December 1922 to 26 December 1991.In name, it was a union of multiple national Soviet republics, its government and economy were very centralized.
