- COMMON SENSEThe English government you worship? It’s a sham. Man may need government to protect him from his flawed nature, but that doesn’t mean he must suffocate under brute tyranny. Just as you would cut ties with abusive parents, you must break from Britain.

- Common sense gets published by Thoamas Paine. Common sense promoted the idea of independence for the colonist in a simple way for them to understand. It got straight to the point and was in simple words.
- The Battle of Yorktowm
- The signing of the declaration was an important moment in history. The colonies were officially independent states. Also their political connections with the united kingdom were dissolved.
- The Treaty of Paris 1783
- The Battle of sarartoga was a turning point for the Americans in the revolution. European nations decided to help the Americans and they turned around the war.

- The battle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the American revolution. The Americans won this battle. They won it by nonstop bombarding the British until they ran out of supplies and were forced to surrender.
- The Treaty of Paris 1783 Officially ended the American Revolutionary war. The united states was now independent. It boundaries would be the Mississippi River on the west, Canada on the north, and Spanish Florida on the south.
