The younger family are introduced. Walter, his son Travis, his wife Ruth, his Mama and his sister Beneatha lived in an easy, small house at Chicago's southside. They weren't rich, five people crowded in that small house, and Travis didn't even have a place to sleep. Walter wanted to make their life better, and get rid off their life right now.
Every time when Walter looking at his house, he tried to do everything that can make their life better. He tried to open a store with his friends so that he can earn more money. However, money became the biggest problem. But his father recently died so they got a life insurance check or $10,000. However, mom decided to buy a new house instead of giving those money to Walter. He was mad at his mom because his mom didn't support him and he cannot open the store.
After Mama bought the house. There still have lots of money left over. So Mama told Walter to reserve 3,000 for beneatha education, and he can do whatever he wants for rest of them. So he decided to give those money to his friends so he can open the liquor store. However, the day which should put the money in the banl, one of his friend get the money and ran away. So now he lost his money and he lost his dream.
Everone in Younger's family was depressing, because Walter lost all the money. Beneatha and Ruth was mad because this is the reason why they don't truth walter. He didn't get the liquor store, and he didn't get the money. Now he has nothing. That money view as the hope for Younger's family. Now the money is gone, which means their hope is gone. And they back to their orginal life.
Theyheard about what's the new house looks like. It was amazingly big and super nice. Walter found out that his mom did a right decision that bought a new house for the whole family. However, the house located in a white people area. Mr. Linder talked to Younger's family that they hope they can move out the house and they will pay back all the money because their white neighbor didn't want a black neighbor.
Finally, Walter still decided to move in this house no mattar what. They cannot live in this room anymore. The new house also give them hope to move on. And everyone in Younger's family was happy!
