  • Long Term Causes of the French Revolution
  • Estates General
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • A lot of people suffered because of the French Revolution because of the loss in food and wealth. Lots of people were begging and lost most of their family members. The people later will get angry and fight back do to the destruction that led to more taxes.
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • A legislative body consisting of Representatives of the three estates. It was a chance of carrying out changes. The people hoped it would bring the monarch under the control of the nobles. France was on the verge of bankruptcy and there was bread riots and nobles feared overwhelming taxes. 
  • Revolution Begins
  • This occurred when the delegates were over the issue of voting. The reason for this was because the First and Second Estates were outvoting the Third Estate. Due to this they declared themselves the National Assembly. A few days later they found their meeting hall locked and guarded so they met in a nearby tennis court. They all swore,"never to separate and to meet wherever the circumstances might require until we have established a sound and just Constitution".
  • Eight-hundred Parisians assembled outside the Bastille. The crowed demanded weapons and gunpowder believed to be stored there. It was believed to be a place that stored prisoners. The mod was held at the gate and later broke through and killed the General and five guards.
