  • In Cree our name means "downstream people"
  • In Cree the word for buffalo is Paskwaw mostos
  • In the summer, when buffalo gathered in heards, the plains Cree gathered in large groups to hunt buffalo.
  • many woodland cree woman married fur traders, so many people share elements of woodland cree cultural heritage.
  • the rocky mountains cree today live in the grande cache area. they once lived in more eastern regions of the country,but moved west during the fur trade.
