  • Was that a meteor?
  • Honey, the stove isn't turning on!
  • I think so.

  • They don't want you to leave.
  • Nonsense!
  • That boy reads too many comic books.

  • He was always a strange man.
  • It's him!
  • VRROOOOMM
  • This story takes place on Maple Street, a typical small town in America. On Maple Street the residents see a flash of light, and believe it to be a meteor. This flash of light seems to stop everything from working: cars, telephones, and radios.
  • Climax 
  • After a while people start getting nervous. Steve and Carlie decide to go downtown. A fourteen year old boy named Tommy tries to stop them. He tells everyone that whatever was in that meteor doesn't want them to leave. He tells them a story about how nobody can leave the town except the things they had sent down before. The only catch was that the things looked like humans. Nobody believed him at first...
  • Falling Action
  • At first everybody laughs at Tommy. People continue to try getting things to work. Les Goodmantries to start his car but it doesn't turn on. Hr then takes the key out and walks back, all of a sudden the car turns on. Then the whole neighborhood turns at him, all except Steve. They now believe that Les the thing. They want him out, they need someone else to blame.
  • Resolution
  • Everyone starts blaming each other.No one trusts anyone. They are all busy  blaming each other when they hear footsteps coming down the street. They see a dark figure coming toward them in the gloom. Don pulls a shotgun out of his pocket. Then Charlie takes and gets aim. Steve is telling him not to do it but Charlie fires. It turns out it wasn´t a monster,  it was their neighbor,  Pete Van Horn. 
  • After that everyone starts blaming Charlie. Then, a porchlight turns on, then off. The next houseś lights turn on. One house  after the other, light on, light off. Everyone starts getting scared and blames whose  ever lights are on.
  • High up on a hill are two figures watching over a neighborhood.  All the lights on the houses seem to be flashing. ¨ Understand now? Just turn off their electronics and let them stay in darkness for a few hours and sit back and watch as they destroy themselves......¨
