  • I’m tired
  • *Brother and sister studying late at night*
  • Glucose is a type of sugar. Glucose is required for cellular respiration to occur.
  • Same, but we need to study more!
  • Cellular Respiration is the process of breaking down oxygen and glucose, forming carbon dioxide and ATP. This carbon dioxide and ATP are what gives us energy and allows us to function throughout the day. Cellular Respiration occurs in the mitochondria. You guys must be tired because you have been awake and using energy the entire day. You guys must not have any glucose in you right now, that’s why you should eat an apple. Your body will use the glucose to perform cellular respiration which will give you energy
  • We are, we need more energy!
  • You two look tired
  • Why do we need glucose?
  • I know how to fix your problem! You need more glucose to make ATP. Eat something like an apple!
  • What is ATP?
  • What does that have to do with energy?
  • What is cellular respiration?
  • Wow that’s complicated!
  • Let’s go eat some apples
  • Wow, Mom was right! I feel more energized and I can study for a lot longer! I’m going to get an A! My grade is going to go up!
  • Mom is going to be proud, and it’s all thanks to her advice!
