[Somber music is playing and the lighting is dim] Mr. White is closing his eyes listening to his his wife cry with an unsure expression. Mrs. White is crying because she is mourning the loss of her son.
[Somber music stops and a ping noise is made. The camera zooms in and light focuses on Mrs. White.] Mrs. White says, "Get up! Let's use the monkey paw to wish Herbert alive!" [The camera pans to Mr. White} Mr. White shakes his head, no.
[Mr. White comes back upstairs after making the wish for his son to come back to life. The lighting in the room is dark] Mr. White says, "I did what you want, but it won't bring him back." Mrs. White does not respond [and there is deafening silence in the room except sniffles from Mr. White]. Then, they hear pounding at the door downstairs.
[The room downstairs is dark except for a light behind the glass in the window. There is a figure behind the door] Mrs.White with tears tries to open the door and struggles to reach the top lock while Mr.White turns his back to Mrs. White to grab the monkey paw.
[The camera zooms in on Mr. White. In the background, there are sounds of Mrs. White wrestling with the lock and pleading to get the door open.] Mr. White kneels down when he finds the paw and takes a deep breath, and wishes their son was dead again.
[The room is silent except for the whisk of the door opening.] Mrs. White was successfully able to open the door and then there was the sound of a tree only and its reflection from the light that shined through it. Mrs. White kneels down and realized it was too late though. Their son was gone.
