Storyboard Text

  • Billy and Linear Equation Boy go on a long road trip to Dallas, Texas. They will be traveling to help and save homeless people. They leave tomorrow morning
  • How many miles is it to Dallas?
  • How many miles per hour?
  • Well, that is called slope. Slope is the steepness of the line. For example, we would be traveling about 70 miles per 1 hour while we are on our way to Dallas because if we divide our distance and time, you get your speed, which in this case, it would be 70 miles
  • About 1,200 miles and 17 hours to get to there
  • Ok, so slope is the amount of distance we travel in an amount of time?
  • Yes, correct.
  • 5 hours later
  • So with that slope thing, is there something else to do with that?
  • Oh, that's cool.
  • Yes, there is. It is called the y-intercept, which is the starting point of the line. For example, our y-intercept is 0, because we are staying at a constant rate at 70 miles per hour, which is 70/1.
  • 1 hour later
  • Ima die man. YOU NEED TO STOP!
  • Is there a rest stop nearby? I have to use the restroom very bad.
  • No, not for another 20 min.
  • Thats better. How much longer until we get to Dallas?
  • At the rest stop
  • About another 9-10 hours. It's a long drive.
