  • Montgomery Bus Boycott-December 5,1955-Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. This caught the attention of the entire nation and set a tone for the civil rights movement.
  • Little Rock School Crisis-September 5,1957-African American students wanted to go to an all white school, 9 students were chosen go to the all white school. This started letting African American students go to white schools.
  • Sit-in Movement-February 1,1960-4 young African American students sat in at woolworth's lunch counter in greensboro, North Carolina. Then refused to leave after being denied service.
  • March on Washington-August 28,1963-It was intended to fight for the rights of African American's jobs and freedom.
  • Million Man March-October 16,1995-It renewed a spirit of political activism in the African American community.
  • Black Lives Matter Movement-Summer of 2013-It gave a clearer view on how black lives are treated.
