  • It can be caused by smoking (which is the most common), radon gas, asbestos, and it can be genetic.
  • But I've only had a cough. Surely such a small thing couldn't mean cancer.
  • Coughing, shortness of breath, fluid in chest, and chest pain are all symptoms.
  • I don't believe this.
  • Well you can prevent it by not smoking, and avoiding secondhand smoke, as well as a good diet and exercise.
  • Well how will this affect me long term?
  • What are some treatment options I can have?
  • Well it affects your lung cells which mutate and form tumors. There are 200,000 cases a year.
  • Some people can surgically remove the tumor but yours is too big. We can still do chemo, radiation, drug therapy, and immunotherapy.
  • Well I'm going to go home and think about my options. Thank you I guess.
  • I'll recommend an oncologist to start treatment right away.
