  • Before Gatsby went to fight in the war, he was dating Daisy. When he left for war, they would write letters to each other. 
  • RISING ACTION
  • I'm sorry, goodbye.
  • Tom is married to Daisy, but Gatsby and Daisy are becoming more than friends again. There is a love triangle between Tom, Gatsby, and Daisy.
  • CLIMAX
  • Gatsby threw parties every weekend in hopes that Daisy would show up. Many people came to his parties, no one was invited, people just showed up. 
  • FALLING ACTION / RESOLUTION
  • Daisy comes to Gatsby's house, so Gatsby fires all of his servants because he doesn't want gossip going around. 
  • Myrtle ran out to the car because she thought Tom was in it, and she wanted to talk to him. She was killed in the crash.
  • Mr. Wilson shoots Gatsby at his house, and then shoots himself.
