Storyboard Text

  • Something the matter, Montag?
  • Why, we've stopped in front of my house
  • Fire!
  • I want you to do this job all by your lonesome, Montag. Not with kerosene and a match, but piecework, with a flamethrower. Your house, your clean up.
  • The books, Montag!
  • Montag and the other firemen arrive at his house. Montag stares at Beatty with disbelief while Beatty stares back with satisfaction.
  • We'll trace this and drop it on your friend.
  • NO!
  • Beatty orders Montag to burn down his own house with a flamethrower, instead of using kerosene and a match.
  • Well that's one way to get an audience. Hold a gun on a man and force him to listen to your speech.  We've never burned right...
  • Montag burns down his entire house, but Beatty reminds him to burn the books. He fires his flamethrower at the books and burns them as well.
  • Beatty starts hitting Montag and finds the green bullet Montag uses to communicate with Faber. Montag twitches the safety on his flamethrower.
  • Beatty doesn't take Montag seriously, but Montag points the flamethrower at him and says, "We've never burned right."
  • Montag burns Beatty, knocks out the other two firemen, and runs away.
