Storyboard Text

  • Unusual Childhood
  • He's gone... my condolences.
  • The Call to Adventure
  • This symbol looks familiar...
  • Maybe father is still alive.
  • Call to Adventure/Crossing Threshold
  • I wish you did not find out about this. I wouldn't want to lose you too.
  • One day, a day that was supposedly ordinary, a friend of Chi-Shang's father announces the passing of Chi-Shang's father. He was on an unknown quest towards the mountains. Everyone was devastated. What was left of him was a ring stoned with strange, purple crystals. The man gave this to Chi-Shang as a remembrance of his father.
  • Mastery of Two Worlds
  • After many weeks of griefing, Chi-Shang decides to pack his father's things, and place them in the attic. As he places the boxes, an object catches his eye. It's an ominous chest in the corner of the room. He opens the chest to reveal a scroll with a symbol that looks oddly familiar; like the symbol on the ring. He decides to ask his grandfather for any information.
  • The Return Home
  • We missed you!
  • Chi-Shang takes the scroll and ring to his grandfather. Dismay filled his face as he stared at his grandson holding the ring and scroll that made him lose his son. Chi-Shang asks about the symbols on the objects, and his grandfather, with hesitance, interlocked the symbol from the ring and scroll. The scroll transformed into a map. Chi-Shang was amazed, but looking up to his grandfather made his face drop. Pain filled his grandfather's eyes as he explained that Chi-Shang's father took upon the task of following the map and ultimately passing. In that moment, Chi-Shang realized that only the ring was left of his father; meaning he could still be alive.
  • The Transformation
  • Chi-Shang went back to his ordinary life; studying, helping out, and working at his local Dunkin' Donuts. He realized how dull it was, realizing he could never go back to this life. He used his telekinesis to levitate a donut and many more things to come.
  • Chi-Shang stares at it, seeing his father inside. He takes the orb and smashes it onto the ground. It shatters, and before him stood his father. Tearful, Chi-Shang embraces his father, who shares a tender moment with his son. They return home to their family, where they come rushing to enfold the both of them.
  • As the man's sword began to glow, Chi-Shang remembered his lessons of finding inner peace with his father. He calmed down and honed into the feeling; suddenly, he saw the man being thrown into the air by telekenisis! Chi-Shang realized power does not come from an object, but oneself. What stood before him floating was the blue orb.
