  • Runoff is the water that comes from rain that doesn't soak into the ground, it continues until it reaches a river, lake, or the ocean.
  • The water from lakes, rivers, and the oceans will evaportate due to the heat of the sun
  • The water vapor will go through the condensation stage, this will form the clouds
  • Precipitation is the stage when the water is the clouds turn back into full water droplets and fall out of the cloud.
  • The water that does soak into the ground is called groundwater. This water can stay there for a few day or a few million years.
  • The groundwater stays underground until it is dug up or pulled out. Wells pull the water out for humans to use.
