This first amendment right allows for each of us to have our own unique religion and celebrate the god or gods that we want to celebrate. Without this amendment we would all have to be part of one religion and we would not be able to express our beliefs.

The second amendment allows me to carry a gun. Without this amendment, I would not be able to protect myself and someone more powerful than me or someone who illegally obtained a gun would be able to overpower me.
Now that you say it like that, I do see that its is important to own a gun. However, I think it is important to make sure that there are stricter laws for obtaining guns so that criminals or someone who would do harm with guns would not get the guns. I think universal background checks would be a step in the right direction.
