  • An element is something made out of a single molecule. You can tell that somthng is an element if it has just one capital letter. An example would be Iron or (Fe).
  • A compound is  composed of two or more elements. You can tell if it has two or more capital letters. For example sugar (C12H22O11).
  • An element is also a molecule if it has a number at the end of it.
  • A compound is always a molecule.
