Antony, Octavius, and Lepidus have made a second triumvirate. They are making a kill list in Rome. Antony is including Lepidus right now so that he can take the public blame.
Brutus is with his army waiting for Cassius to arrive. He describes Cassius as a "hot friend cooling".
Cassius arrives and is mad at Brutus for firing one of the men in his army. Brutus is mad at Cassius for not giving him money to pay his army and accusing him of accepting bribes.
The two continue their argument over the battle plan. Cassius wants to wait for Antony's army to come to them, but Brutus wants to march to Phillipi to meet them.
Brutus and Cassius make amense and have deicided to follow Brutus' plan to march to Phillipi. He also reveals his stotic nature when saying that Portia has killed herself.
The Ghost of Caesar visits Brutus and tells him that Brutus will see him at Phillipi. Brutus is very shocked by the event. It shows that Brutus might be feeling some guilt from killing Caesar.
