Mr. Garza, your skin biopsy did show melanoma. To better diagnose your melanoma, I need to order imaging tests to see if the melanoma has spread to lymph nodes or other organs in the body. Imaging tests include x-rays, ultrasounds, and scans.
Dr. Sharp, how do you treat melanoma?
If the melanoma is in an early stage we can simply surgical remove the infected area. But in more advanced stages, meaning it has spread to lymph nodes or other parts of the body, it can be treated with surgical removal, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy drugs.
I’m hopeful. What do my scans look like today?
Mr. Garza, your scans are clear. The surgery you had to remove the birthmark and radiation therapy afterward has worked.
Mr. Garza, how are you feeling?
Your compassionate attention and professional care saved my life. Please accept this painting for your office or for the hospital.
Thank you, Dr. Sharp for helping me fight this. I have something for you.
