Emma Gonzalez is a gun activist who survived the 2018 Stoneman Douglas shooting where 17 students and teachers were killed.
This incident occurred on February 14, 2018 when Nickolas Cruz who had previously attended stoneman Douglas high school commuted like any other normal day with an AR-15.
At just the age of 18 it is legal to own a semi-automatic rifle, which baffled and surprised Emma. The gun that was acquired by the school shooter was acquired legally!
Cruz entered the building and activated the fire alarm which caused confusion in the school because that day they had already had a fire alarm drill the same day never the less students left the classroom.
After killing 17 students and teachers Nickolas Cruz was slammed to the ground by the police and taken into custody.
Emma has participated in several marches and rally to fight for stronger gun laws to prevent the tragic incident that occurred at her school. Emma spoke at the " March for Our Lives Speech" where she took a 17 minute pause to honor the 17 lives that were lost on February 14.
