  • We are because we have no more food in Ireland...
  • And there are diseases going around.
  • You can't forget that all families were living in poverty too!
  • When we arrived in America, we settled in Boston,
  • New York City,
  • Baltimore,
  • and Philadelphia.
  • The Living Conditions were decent.
  • Jobs that the Irish had when they first came to America is they would build canals...
  • ...and build railroads.
  • ...work in mines...
  • Help Wanted! NO IRISH
  • Work conditions for the Irish were very bad. They were treated poorly, had back-breaking jobs, they had the lowest paying jobs, and many people didn't want the Irish to work for them.
  • The difficulties that the Irish faced as they came to America were, they had to do tough jobs, they were living in poverty, most people would not hire them, and they were discriminated
