Storyboard Text

  • Can you come to my party? Circle yes or no.
  • Now I want you to write one thing you learned from our book.
  • I can't wait to tell my friends and family about my vacation!
  • One of my earliest memories I have of writing was when I was about 4 years old and my mom allowed me to help write my birthday party invitations.
  • I feel so calm. I'm ready to write!
  • When I was 5, I went to a private Christian school for Kindergarten. I was the only student in my Kindergarten class so I had the teacher to myself. I remember her reading to me on a carpet and then asking me to write about our book after that.
  • This is making me hungry!
  • Add two cups of flour...
  • I remember being on vacation in Maui, HI in 2014 and sitting outside writing postcards to send back to Texas.
  • When I first started keeping a journal, my mom would always light candles in my room and turn on soothing music. I always loved that because it helped spark my creative writing.
  • When I was about 11 years old, my family decided to create a cookbook filled with our family's recipes. My mom had me help write down all of her recipes.
  • One of my favorite assignments in Jr. High was when I had to write my own mini-play and then perform it for my theater arts class.
