One day, Zeus was very bored and he didn't know what to do. He then thought of calling for his wife, Hera, but she is terrifying to Zeus. He decided to go look for a beautiful woman, though he would need to be careful because Hera was always very jealous.
I'M BORED!!! I WANT TO DO SOMETHING!!
I COULD call Hera... but she's too scary.
Zeus went down to land to find a river nymph named Io. Zeus quickly covered the sky with clouds so Hera would not see him. This made Hera very suspicious, so she started to go down to Zeus and the river nymph.
*Whispers* He will pay!
Zeus saw Hera coming down and he quickly turned Io into a cow. Hera asked if she could keep the cow, knowing that it was Io, and Zeus said yes. After Hera put Io under guard, Zeus sent Apollo to get Io. Io had escaped, but Hera sent a gadfly (a fly that bites) after her.
Io, then, traveled to Egypt. Then, Hera thought that Io had suffered enough. First, she made Zeus apologize. Then, she went to Egypt and turned Io back to her human self again. The Nile was a bad place for Io because there was crocodiles!
The conflict is that Zeus fell in love with a river nymph named Io, but Hera was watching the whole entire time.
