In the book George say "Look,Lennie. You try to keep from him,will you? Don't never speak to him. if he comes in here you move clear to the other side of the room. Will you do that Lennie?"

In the story it states, "Blood ran down Lennie's face, one of his eyes was cut and closed. George slapped his face again and again, and still Lennie held on to the closed fist.
this quote shows that George values Lennie as a friend and does not want him to go away on his own.
This quote shows how George really cares about Lennie and looks out for him makes sure he is ok.
