Rome is located in Italy which is a peninsula that reaches into the Mediterranean Sea. Rome lies close to the Tiber river.

A princess gave birth to twin sons, Romulus and Remus. The princess's uncle (the king) feared they would take his thrown, so he tried to drown them in the Tiber River. A wolf saved them so they built a city where they were saved. They fought over who would rule the new city and Romulus killed Remus and called the town Rome.
