The settlers of the new England colonies turned to their evironment. The timber, fishing, and whaling industries became the stable economy in the cold climate of the nort opposed to Jamestown in the Southern colonies
The plan of goverment of the pilgrims was the Mayflower Compact, the men agreed to consult each other about the laws for the colony, they promised to work together to make the colony succeed
In 1630 a group left England in search of religious freedom. This group was called the Puritans. The Puritans wanted to leave the Church of England to become "pure' by getting rid of Catholic practices. The Puritans did not want to separate entirely from the Church of England they just wanted to make reforms or changes
The Pilgrims had a long and difficult journey across the Atlantic Ocean. A storm blew the off course, so instead of landing in Virginia, they landed much further north in Caped Co, Massachusetts
Compare Jamestown to Plymouth The people of Plymouth are so different to the Jamestown people the Plymouth people came to explore, make money, spreed and practices their religion and live in a land of their own and the people of Jamestown came because they hoped to make money by trading with a new colony that they planned to establish the people of jamestown live from the seeds of tobacco and the people of plymouth live from the timber, fishing and whaling
