As Benvolio attempts to end the fight, another man of Capulet, Tybalt, arrives. He suggests the fight should continue. Benvolio keeps with his original thought of the men parting, but fails to keep them brawling with each other.
What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the wordAs I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.Have at thee, coward!
What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds? Turn thee, Benvolio; look upon thy death.
I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword,Or manage it to part these men with me.
What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho!
As the fight brakes out several citizens come out and join. Because of the racket, Capulet, Lady Capulet, Montague, and Lady Montague all come out onto the street and engage in the fight.
