Storyboard Text

  • What a cool cat !
  • Thanks, her dad was a Japanese bobtail and her mother was a Manx.
  • Oh, so she is a hybrid then
  • A hybrid is an offspring of two dissimilar individuals.
  • A what ?
  • Well, usually though selective breeding  humans. They chose the best of both organisms to make a better offspring like corn it took about 6000 years of breeding to get it as it is today
  • And what do hybrids do ?
  • Not really, studies have shown no scientific support for concern about their safety. They give a better, less expensive, more nutritious food and a less harmful manufacturing process.
  • But are they bad for you ?
  • You can combine DNA fragments, recombined  DNA  and it makes it possible to change  the genetic composition of living organisms.
  • Okay, is it like GMO food.
  • Exactly, GMO or transgenic foods can be produced by the insertion of the recombinant DNA into the genome of the host organisms you can also have GMO animals.
