1. The conflict reveals the character because it shows that he is really hungry after he got kicked off of the boat. It also shows that he was kind of scared and wanted somewhere that he could rest.2. The conflict propels the action because when Rainsford gets on land he is hungry ad needs to rest so he starts to look for somewhere to go.3. The conflict creates suspense because the when we are reading the story we all think that Rainsford is not going to find somewhere to rest or something to eat.

The conflict shapes the audience's perspective because when Rainsford is going to hide he gets his foot stuck in the quicksand that General Zaroff told him about and we get a little scared that Zaroff is going to find him. 3.The conflict propels the action because Rainsford gets his foot stuck in the quicksand and he hears General Zaroff coming so he gets scared and he finally got his foot loose so he could find a place to hide.
