A Christmas Carol Final Project by: Emma Conca, A period
The theme in A Christmas Carol is that happiness comes in small things, not from money.
" A merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us all!" (648).
"Yo ho my boys!' said Fezziwig. "No more work tonight. Christmas Eve Dick. Christmas Ebenezer!"(636).
"Good Heaven!" said Scrooge, clasping his hands together, as he looked about him. "I was bred in this place. I was a boy here!"(633).
When the Cratchits gather as a family for Christmas Eve dinner, they have a small goose to feed all of them but are still happy that they are all together as a family and are happy that Christmas is here!
" Joining their horny hands over the rough table at which they sat, they wished each other Merry Christmas in their can of grog;" (651).
When Scrooge is a little boy he finally goes home for Christmas and sees Fezziwig. Fezziwig is so happy that Scrooge is home that he stops everything to have a party because he is so happy that Scrooge is back .
When Scrooge is taken back to his past and sees his school, he becomes happy just because it is a familiar place that he spent a good chunk of his childhood.
The ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge people who are happy( in this case he shows him sailors) just because its Christmas, not because of money.
