I am one of the twenty slaves that were brought to Jamestown
My name is John Smith and i'm part of the representative government of Jamestown
I am John Rolfe and I grow tobacco in Jamestown
The soil here is very fertile, and extremely good for farming
Surprisingly, Jamestown was a success. During the winter, the colonists we not near prepared for the winter. This time period was called the starving time. During the starving time, over 75 settlers had died. When the winter season had ended, there were very few left. In the spring, Jamestown had overcome the starving time, and eventually turned out successful, because of the rich soil, which was extremely good for farming, which was very good economically, since tobacco was sold at such a high rate.
