Storyboard Text

  • Friction and what causes it.
  • Did you know friction is when two substances rub against each other. But normally smooth surfaces produce less friction and rough surfaces produce rough surfaces
  • static friction is the friction that acts on nonmoving objects
  • rolling friction is when something is rolling on a surface
  • Did you know that fluid friction is when a substance moves in the water
  • sliding friction is when two solid surfaces slide over each other
  • Did you know that Gravity is the force by which a planet or other body draws objects towards the center.
  • Weigh= Mass X Acceleration due to Graity
  • Did you know that weight is a measure of how much gravity pull on a mas or object. The SI Unit for weight is Newton
  • Do you know what acts upon Gravity and Motion, more like free fall and air resistance?
  • Free Fall is when an object goes straight to the ground
  • Air Resistance is a force that is caused by air
  • Examples: - Free Fall: lets say you are holding a ball, it will fall straight down to the ground
  • Examples:  - lets say you go skydiving, air resistance is acting upon when your body by gravity
  • - Projectile: Occurs when an object is thrown - Compression: An elastic force that squeezes or pushes matter together
  • You are probably wondering what compression and projectile mean?
  • - Matter is considered elastic if it returns to its original shape after it is squeezed or stretched -Tension: An elastic force that stretches or pulls matter
  • Do you guys know why tension is caused?
