Storyboard Text

  • The vassel has to swear an oath to the King. The vassel has to swear to protect the Kings land and promise loyalty towards him. Then, he will get some of the land.
  • The vassel must also collect taxes from the peasants that live on his land.
  • The vassel then has his knights to help him to protect the land. The knights will also get a piece of the land. But the vassel makes the peasants pay a price.
  • Peasants were expected to produce enough food for the vassel and his family. They could produce just enough for their family and the vassel.
  • If a peasant was caught stealing flour, they would get a punishment. These punishments were cruel and harsh.
  • The vassels manor would have a church owned by the vassel, where the peasants took a break from work and had a Sunday or Catholic feast.
