  • Anglo Americans and Mexicans where fighting because the Anglos lived in Mexico and would not convert to Catholic or do anything else they required because of the American rights.
  • The Alamo was a battle that the Anglo Americans lost and nearly everyone died.
  • A man named Stephen F. Austin, who was on Mexico's side, advised Mexico to give Texas it's freedom like the Anglos wanted because many would not stop fighting.
  • This along with other things made the Mexicans mad. One of the things that made them the most mad were filibusters trying to claim Texas. A war begun slowly from this.

  • On his way home, Austin was arrested by Santa Anna's orders.
