I'll give you $20 for yer hair.
The Search is On!
I would like to buy this fob.
Although she has saved for months, Della only has $1.87 to buy her beloved husband Jim a Christmas present.
Will Jim still love me without my hair?
Della decides to sell her hair to pay for a nice present for Jim.
I love it! My hair grows so fast.
I still love you with out your hair, but I bought you a comb.
Della searches the city for hours, and finally finds a present made for Jim; she found a fob for his prized pocket watch.
Open your gift! Its a fob for your watch! Do you love it?
Della, lets put our presents away for awhile. I sold my watch to buy your combs.
Della gets home, and begins to worry. The only thing Jim loves as much as his pocket watch is Della's hair. She worries that he will not find her pretty without it.
Jim arrives home, and Della is surprised that he is not sad about her selling her hair, he is sad because he bought her a set of expensive combs.
Della gives Jim his gift, a beautiful fob chain, but to her despair, she learns he sold his watch to buy her combs. They both realize that the thoughts that went into the gifts are more important than the gifts themselves.
