Storyboard Text

  • Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wonder where they all come from? Well it all starts in a big cloud of mainly dust, helium and hydrogen called a Planatary Nebula.

  • .. . . .. .
  • After this huge cloud forms a little core by the gravity joining togehter the gases and dust, the gravity will collapse in the newly formed core to create whats called a Protostar.

  • When fusion, the process of hydrogen bring turned into helium, begins the Protostar becomes a stable Main Sequence star, just like the one we see in our sky everyday.

  • At some point in a stars long life it begins to run out of the fuel that keeps it going like hydrogen.

  • The star will start contracting and heating up, but the cooler outer temperature makes it glow bright red and the size will increase. When this begins to happen its known as a Red Giant.

  • When the nuclear fusion process stops the nuclear fires that are going on inside will become unstable causing the the star to pulsate, which causes and push the outer layer off. This state is known as a Planetary Nebula

  • After all of those outer layers have been shook off all that's left is the core, which is still extremely hot, dense and the luminosity is very high. At the very end of the Stars life it is called a White Dwarf because it shines a very bright white light.
