Storyboard Text

  • "Im leaving you" (movie) "...And I know it’s kind of a bad time to be telling you, but there simply wasn’t any other way." (Paragraph 17)
  • “...I’ll get the supper," (Paragraph 18)
  • "All right. So I've killed him." (Paragraph 23)
  • Mary was happy before this, but when she heard that he was leaving her, in the 1950's this was uncommon, so this came as an even larger shock. She didn't know how to react so decided she was just going to go make food.
  • Mary was in some sort of denial, but as she began to believe it was all really happening, she became numb and emotionless. This would soon lead to a change in her morals linked to common decency and sanity. She grabbed a frozen leg of lamb from the freezer.
  • “Is he dead?” (Paragraph 34)
  • “I’m afraid he is. What happened?” (Paragraph 35)
  • She brought the leg of lamb upstairs as she would every day except for when they ate out, but her husband then said that they were going out. This change really showed her that all of this was truly happening and she could not change t. This made her even more emotionless feeling, but deep down inside she was very frustrated. Being in a poor state of mind, she decided to hit him with no remorse.
  • “Personally, I think it’s right here on the premises.” (Paragraph 52)
  • “Probably right under our very noses. What you think, Jack?” (Paragraph 53)
  • Mary quickly realized she had to protect her unborn child, so she decided to create a perfect murder. She messed up some of the furniture in the living room to make it seem like someone else had done it, and she went to go put the meat in the oven to cook it and give her something to work off of with evidence and questions asked by the detectives.
  • The detectives came in, and Mary knew that she had to sound convincing with lots of emotion, which she did not even really need to act out at first, because she really was sad. She later knew she had to do more and started acting slightly. She convinced the detectives to eat the leg of lamb , destroying the evidence. Another reicpe for a perfect murder.
  • The detectives talked about how they thought the weapon was in the house due to how bulk it must have been. Mary found this funny because she knew they were right next to the weapon. The fact that she found this situation  comedic really projects her pure insanity that had formed.
