  • Around 1775, Burr began his military career and served during Benedict Arnold’s “March to Quebec”. Later in 1776, he would join the staff of George Washington and was called to New York City.
  • After his military service, Burr would marry, have a daughter, resume his practice in law (alongside Alexander Hamilton), and begin what he is most known for- his political career
  • Burr blamed his political setbacks on Alexander Hamilton’s political machinations. On July 11, 1804- Burr and Hamilton met at ten paces at Weehawken; both fired and Hamilton fell, mortally wounded.
