Storyboard Text

  • The Tell-Tale Heart Amanda Gossett Mr. Haws CP English 5 26 October 2018
  • The narrator is paranoid and fearful of the old man's "vulture" like eye. He desires for it to be gone.
  • The pale blue eye haunts the narrator day and night. He plans to murder the old man, believing that will make the eye go away.
  • "You fancy me mad. Madmen know nothing. But you should have seen me."
  • At one point, the narrator accuses the reader of thinking he is crazy. This is where he's going insane.
  • The narrator continued through with his plan and cut up the old man into pieces and put him under the floorboards.
  • "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
  • A couple of cops come to check out what has happened, and everything is fine and they don't suspect a thing until the guilt and the sound of the heart he is imagining finally eats him alive and he tears up the floorboards and confesses the cops, telling them everything.
