The redcoats chased Washington and his army to the Delaware River. Washington knew he had to put something between his troops and the redcoats, so he sent John Glover to find boats.
They set out across the river to have something between them and the English. Washington and his troops cross the river and set up camp on the other side.
Once camp is set up Washington hold a meeting with his captains. He tells them his plan of action. He tells them that on Christmas day they will attack the Heshans campsite.
Although his captains disapproved of this idea, Washington managed to convince them this was a good idea. Washington had so much stress on his shoulder's but with his determanation, they managed to get on the boats to start their very long journey.
On December 25th Washington and his troops took a 5-mile boat ride that followed with a 9-mile hike. Washington wanted to attack at night but got there the next day. They traveled in the night exhausted and willing to fight for the greater good.
They arrived early in the morning on December 26th. The Hessians were in Boston fast asleep, a perfect time for a surprise attack. Washington got his troops ready and attacked. Many men died that day, but Washington's troops won the battle and won Boston back. This was the start of a Revolution
