  • “May the heavens be happy with this holy act of marriage, so nothing unfortunate happens later to make us regret it.” (p. 73) This is a great example of foreshadowing because its intending that ladder on in the novel something bad might happen and make them regret getting married. How I know this is foreshadowing is because its telling me early on in the novel something that might happen at the end of it.
  • “ Your humor is a spicy sauce.” (p. 62) This is a great example of a metaphor because its stating that his or her humor is out there and its not plane or boring. Also Shakespeare is comparing humor to spicy sauce but hes not using like or as to do so which would be a simile.
  • "Our love, which right now i like a flower bud in the summer air, may turn out to be a beautiful flower by the next time we meet." (p.51) This is a great example of a simile because Juliet is saying her love is just a flower bud but once shes with romeo it grows into a beautiful flower, meaning she loves him so very much. I know this is a simile because its using the phrase like.
