This is an early settler that lives in a family-based community. He has been sent to trade with nearby tribes. He was sent by the tribes' male elder who makes all the decisions. He lives in a small hut along with everyone else in the tribe. He wants to get the goods they can't provide for themselves.
I will also try to get them to join our tribe for needed protection. We have a small tribe of 20 people
These two tribes have joined together for needed protection against attackers and floods. They also joined for needed food. They made new huts and it turned into a small village of people. Now they could trade more goods with other villages.
Our tribes have joined together for protection and for needed help on the fields. We are now a bigger stronger tribe.
These cities were created from iron-working, trade, and a surplus of food. Iron tools made it easier to farm; which made a surplus of crops. When farming became an easier thing people started to do new things. They could also trade these goods for things that they needed. Others became potters, metalsmiths, weavers, leather workers, and many more. New careers lead to specialization.
We've made our village into a great city. We grew this city through trade and specialization.
These kingdoms came from collecting taxes, conquering cities, and paying tribute . Tribute is a payment that meant the people under the kings' rule accepted him as their leader. The king would create an army of men to capture other cities and to expand their territory. If the city was very wealthy they could afford a big army and that's why the wealthier the city was the better chance they had of becoming an empire or kingdom.
Our city has conquered many cities, and we've created a kingdom.
