The people are angred by Tsar Alexander II's neglect of reform and government. They believed he did not lead the country correctly and had little interest in doing so.
Unrest from the people led to attempts at revolution. The first being in February. The people staged revolts against the Tsar. Soldier fired upon protesters and revolutionaries. This event became to be known as Bloody Sunday. Deaths totaled over 100.

In order to try to take Russia out of WW1, Germany sends Vladimir Lenin back to Russia in order to stir up revolution. Their plan works and the Communist quickly gain power in Russia through the October Revolution. They overthrow the Tsar and the wartime government
Lenin and his Bolshevik party take power in Russia, causing a civil war. The Bolshevik party emerges victorious and Russia becomes communist.
