Storyboard Text

  • Simile
  • Imagery
  • Alliteration
  • "Across the moon like a prison bar" ( line 21 ) This is an example of a simile. I know this because it is a comparison using like or as. This example is using like.
  • Personifacation
  • "The sound of arms, and the tramp of feet" ( line 76 ) This is an example of imagery. I know this because it is using one of the five senses. The five senses are sound, sight, touch, smell, and taste. In this example there is sound. The sound is the "tramp of feet".
  • Metaphor
  • "Stuck out by a steed flying fearless and fleet" This is an example of alliteration. This is alliteration because it has a repletion of initial constant sounds. In this example the f in flying, fearless, and fleet is repetition of initial constant sounds.
  • Onomatopoeia
  • "The fate of the nation was riding that night" This is an example of personification. Personification is when an inanimate object is given human characteristics. In this example fate was riding a horse, and riding a horse is a human characteristic. Only humans can ride horses, which shows that this is personification.
  • "A phantom ship, with each mast and spar" This is an example of a metaphor. This is an example of a metaphor because a metaphor is a comparison without using like or as. This example is a comparison without using like or as.
  • "And seeming to whisper "All is well" This is an example of onomatopoeia. This is an example of onomatopoeia because onomatopoeia is the use of words that imitate sounds. In this example when it says "whisper", that is imitating a sound that is being made.
