Storyboard Text

  • Title I think it will be about how The Roaring '20s was and how it felt like to live in that time period for everyone, criminals, farmers, and normal civilians.
  • Paraphrase This poem is about the flappers speakeasy and bootleggers fighting. It shows how they are still dancing and arguing all the time even though others are panicking about the stock market and such. Also, it shows how woman were taking the blessing of their freedom.
  • "And panic begins where prosperity ends" "Then Wall Street collapses and drowns out the roar" "While crime was ignored by the money it spends" "In the decade that roared with social amends"
  • Connotation
  • More booze?
  • BIG OOF! I have no money.
  • Attitude The speakers tone/ attitude could be multiple different things. They seem to relate to both the flappers and bootleggers and the American families in poverty. (Sincere, wise, distant, formal, aware)
  • J-John! You're the reason I'm aging.
  • Attitude I think that around the 4th stanza the shift began since it started meeting come and the stock market crash. After that it had a more serious tone and feeling.
  • Look what I bought!
  • Title Revisited After reading the poem again i have a different view point. Even though most of my inference was correct the poem was mostly focused on the flappers and bootleggers. It also mentioned events that were occurring at the time.
  • Theme I think that the theme is that even when chaos is occurring all over where you are some people are trying to ignore it.
