The semi-interesting Adventure of Carbon Dioxide
After Millions of years underground in a fossil, Carbon is released into the atmosphere when the fossil is used as fuel through combustion by making things such as factories run. When in the atmosphere the carbon then combines with oxygen and creates CO2
From the atmosphere, the CO2 is taken in by plants as a reactant along with water and sunlight and as the plant goes through photosynthesis
When the plant goes through photosynthesis it produces glucose and oxygen which are both important products of photosynthesis that allow other organisms to survive but are also the reactants within Cellular respiration.
Cellular Respiration then allows the animal or organism that is going through the process release Carbon and water as well as create ATP which is a type of energy that is essential for survival
Because animals and other organisms are made up of Carbon, when they die and decomposers like worms and fungi eat the no longer living organism they then release Carbon into the atmosphere where it combines with oxygen creating CO2 starting the whole cylce over again
